Motherhood has been one of the most challenging parts of my life. I was in a 10-year relationship with someone I thought I would be with forever. God had different plans for me.
Although I was scared through this season of my life, it was the best thing that could happen to me.
Being a single mom is an honor however, it’s been a hard time doing it all alone because it feels lonely. While being the best mom I can be, I have to remember I am someone too and I need to take care of myself too so we are good.
I have my good days when I feel like nothing can stop me and my bad days when I feel like I don’t have the time or don’t want to do anything. It’s a challenge I face every day.
I know I could use a better support around me to uplift me but how can I be that for others when I can barely keep up with myself?
Here’s how I’ve put myself first during the challenging times of Motherhood.
I started therapy which has been a blessing because I’m discovering who I want to become while learning who I am and giving myself the credit of doing my best with what I have.
I can let go of everything that has been holding me down and express my emotions in a positive healthy way.
In the morning before I start my day, I spend time reading the bible and practicing my faith and spirituality daily. This has helped me stay true to myself in my daily life.
It has also helped heal my mind as I go about my long mornings and nights, as I handle an entire household by myself.
Healing is a lifelong journey. Day by day even our hourly decisions matter. Be brave. Be well. Be you.
I’d say it’s my best time yet. I am embracing who I am, letting go of all the pressure I put on myself, and going with the flow of life with God by my side.
This allows me to be more present for myself and others, especially my kids. They deserve the best out of me and I will continue to work on myself for me and my children.
Motherhood has been a gatekeeper in my everyday life and I wouldn’t change it for the world.
Motherhood has its ups and downs and I have something new to learn and experience everyday to become strong mentally, physically, and spiritually. My overall wellness is important to battle a life without fear, judgment, and shame. We are all supermoms in our own ways.
Love yourself through the process.
I love to incorparate daily affirmations to start my day. As much as we want to give time for others we must be able to do that for ourselves to achieve peace and happiness within.
